The Infinite Game

After looking through numerous reviews and summaries, I’m finding a mixed opinions about The Infinite Game. Even fans are wondering if Simon Sinek is running out of original ideas.

On one hand, this book is a “mind bender.” It will challenge you to analyze your thinking and your behavior. It will give you new perspectives on how you view life. You may even find that you want to make some changes to your life.

On the other hand, I have found comments along the lines of “no scientific evidence,” “cherry-picked stories to sew up the concept,” and “rewriting ideas covered by many other authors.” Simon Sinek may be suffering from confirmation and success biases as he tries to expound on a topic that changed his life.

Overall, I believe this book has value. I think seeing his perpective and learning the lessons in his examples may help move you toward a growth mindset.

If you want to get a feel for what Simon Sinek is teaching in the book, then you may want to read this article. It’s not a summary of the book or a review, but a report of an interview with Sinek about the idea of the finite vs. the infinite game.

Global Leadership Network

This is more of a summary than a review of the book. It gives a brief overview of the material of the book, but not much depth.

Blanchard LeaderChat

Again, this is a review, and it is very similar to the Global Leadership summary. The style of the review is in prose form rather than notes, for those who want fully finished sentences and ideas.
